the Accessing Nature Challenge

My friend Becky is part of CityStudio and Vancouver's Greenest City projects. She asked Kaylen and I to participate in her project which is the Accessing Nature Challenge, where a slew of Vancouverites pledge to spend some time in nature every day for 10 days straight. You can follow our adventures here !

Dirty 30

That's right. It's happened. I turned 30 this week.
While at first I was mourning the loss of my 20's, the feeling soon turned into excitement about what the next decade would hold for me. Hopefully, it will mean taking more time for myself now that the career and family aspects of my life are rolling along nicely. And hopefully that will mean more blog posts too (I know, I've said that before - but I really mean it ;)

Getting Festive

Can't believe how fast December is going by!
So much left to do to get ready for Christmas, even though we're trying to scale it back a bit this year....
I always get a late start because we have three birthdays at the end of November and beginning of December, and last weekend we had our annual Christmas party with our friends.
A couple of weeks ago Kaylen and I went to the beach to have some fun and collect some supplies to create this cute wreath. Got the idea from Jan over at Pinecone Camp.
Perfectly simple.
Been a little sick the past couple days, but hoping the rest will recharge me to get everything done without burning out!
(PS - crocheting project still underway ;)

Anniversary

So I just realized the blog just had its one year anniversary!
(With shamefully few posts, I might add ;)
Well, I'm working on it. Brings me back to the reason I started - an outlet for myself, a place for expression, creativity. It continues to be a struggle.
Life is good though. I have finished school and passed my certification exam, all while working full time and being a wife and mum, so I guess I'm not doing too shabby ;)
Going forth into this next year, my goals remain the same.
Try to slow down and find life's balance.
...and maybe blog more :D
